Returning Here – A New Emigrant’s Guide

Most of the time when reviewing resources on migration you find information on how to migrate and how to overcome the difficulties associated with migration.  This website created by a division of the Spanish government, offered information to Spaniards in this vein. But, unlike most sites, it also assumed that emigrants from Spain would return at some point, and to address this it also provided resources on what the returning Spaniard must do to reintegrate into Spanish society. Besides a list of must do activities, it also provided recommendations for a smooth transition in reintegrating by once becoming a Spanish citizen in Spain.

GuiateMigrante.com ran in the early 2010s, and then disappeared. We believe migration/immigration/emigration is the most important issue confronting the world in the 21st century. As part of our work to memorialize useful or insightful web-based resources on this issue, we decided to bring this site back. It was originally in Spanish, but we are going to offer it in English to present the information to the widest possible audience. We will however provide a Spanish translation.
